Your 5 day adventure begins with a climb to the Top of
Texas, Guadalupe Peak, which at 8749 ft is the highest point
in the state.  You then begin an 18 mile journey through the
rough but beautiful terrain of Guadalupe Mountains National
Park.  You'll experience the transition from desert to forest
and look out across the vast sweeping salt basin.  You'll
climb the mountains and travel the Bush Mountain Trail.  
Then take in the vista from "The Best View in Texas" and
enjoy the solitude of West Texas.

Summit & High Country 4 Day Trip
Your 4 day adventure also begins with the 8 mile round trip
to Guadalupe Peak.  The high country backpacking portion of
your trip crosses 14 miles of miles desert, forest, and
mountains.  You'll travel through The Bowl, a special forest
of pine and fir, remnants of a cooler wetter climate in the
Guadalupe Mountains.  You will discover evidence of the
park's ranching past and you'll traverse the desert foothills.  
From Hunter Peak, enjoy a view that encompasses almost
all of the park.
